Mickey on Jeff Porcaro

" I remember being in high school and hearing Jeff on some early Steely Dan
tracks and spending hours in my local record shop looking for his name on anything.
I saw him around 74 with Steely Dan and it truly changed my life. I was in total awe and found him so inspiring.
What made him great was his aggressive but smooth approach.
He played everything with such confidence and finesse.
I also love his feel and groove. He was inspiration to me because I could hear that he had way more chops
than he used. I still listen and try to analyze his drumming. But more importantly, I just enjoy it.
He still gives me goosebumps.
He never played a bad track. He was the man."
